Faculty


At present, there are 62 faculty members in all , that are consisting of 8 professors, 21 associate professors,13 assistant professors, and 26 instructors.

The College of Engineering consists of, 1 graduate school and 3 departments, which are the graduate school of Vehicular and Mechatronic Industry, the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, the Department of Automation Engineeringas well as the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The faculty and the equipment are perfectly integrated with one another. The graduate school of Vehicular and Mechatronic Industry focuses on the related research on “advanced vehicles”, “precision machinery”, “mechanical and electrical conformity and the production automation” as well as “industrial operation and management”. The Department of Industrial Engineering and Management focuses on engineering management and electronic business; the Development of Automation Engineering emphasizes on mechanical and electrical conformity, while the Department of Mechanical Engineering focuses on the development of essential vehicle component designing, precision machinery techniques as well as management and vehicle post-sale service. The College of Engineering established the Innovation Center of Vehicular and Mechatronic Industry since Academic Year 95 and it aimed to reinforce techniques of Vehicular Mechatronic industry by developing on the innovation of essential vehicle components and automobile system, conducting automobile experiments, wheelchair accessible vehicles.

Goals

The goals of the College of Engineering are the integration of teaching resources and the superior environment for research and learning for teachers as well as students. It aims at cultivating talents that possess the characteristics of Nan-Kai (including Realization, Innovation, Comprehensiveness and Harmonization, as so-called RICH).
  1. To cultivate students who possess characteristics of RICH.
  2. To develop interest and ability of students for further studying therefore for lifelong learning as well as life and career guidance.
  3. To cultivate students with professional ethics such as honesty, reverence, diligence and responsibility.
  4. To cultivate talents under the fields of management and technology in mechanics, automobile,automation, as well as industrial engineering and management.
  5. To cultivate students to possess abilities of sufficient humanities cultivation, technology innovation, research conduction and environmental adaptation.
  6. To cultivate outstanding talents with engineering skills as well as the characteristics of IEEE (Information, Expertise, Ethics, and English).
